The National Park Alpine Lodge is the ideal base for people on a budget to explore all the activities the Tongariro National Park has to offer from hiking, canoeing, hunting, Trout fishing, 4x4 off roading, white water rafting, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding and many more. The National Park Village is in the centre of an outdoor explorers paradise.
Alpine Lodge built in 1912 charming Historic Landmark. Previously called National Park Hotel, this historic building was originally opened as a boarding house. A rest stop for travellers for over a hundred years.
National Park Alpine lodge offers accommodation, a short drive from Mt Ruapehu.
We are able to arrange shuttles for the Tongariro crossing and advise on other local activities in the area.

The landscapes are as varied as the hiking, from short family-friendly walks to more challenging day hikes such as Lake Surprise or the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Tongariro National Park and Rangataua Forest offers great hunting primarily for Red Deer with localised Sika populations. There is also limited pig hunting.
